The Goat Project

Because owning a goat in Uganda means you are on your way out of poverty and on your way to independence.  Because goats are easy to care for,  because of their healthy immune systems and there is plentiful amounts of tall grasses to eat in the arias.  We place them. Goats also have A 5 MONTH GESTATION PERIOD, AND ARE WEANED IN 10 DAYS.THEY CAN BREED AT JUST OVER 1 YEAR OF AGE AND BREED TWICE A YEAR.BECAUSE GOATS ARE USED FOR FOOD AND TRADE.

Goat donation buys one goat for$ 75.00

Our History

Our History

Our History The Wider Hearts Foundation was officially founded in 2013 by Mark and Bonnie Ziegler, and Samuel Namalabe. In 2011, while visiting Uganda with a colleague, Bonnie prayed that God would give her a project, a concrete way in which she could make a difference. She met Sam, a man who shared the vision to help people in rural Ugandan villages to attain self-sufficiency through raising goats. On this first trip the groundwork was laid to start “Hands UP” entrepreneurial projects which would give people a chance to help themselves and their neighbors.

Big news

We are currently working on our new web-site and Store, where you can now purchase authentic items made in Uganda, by the Ugandan people.  You will also have the opportunity to purchase  photography from our Outreaches in Uganda.
